The Consciousness Manifesto

REFLECT ON THIS

Your outer life experience of the world reflects the inner state of consciousness you embody in your mind.

The inner state of consciousness determines the outer experience of life. As within, so without. As above, so below. 😳

Contrary to many metaphysical or “new age” teachings, there is no law of attraction operating in life or in the mind. The mind is a mirror to consciousness. It merely reflects back the corresponding image-form of the state of consciousness that is placed and held before the mind. You do not attract the things, forms or effects in your life whether you judge them to be good or bad based on how you are experiencing your perception of them. Rather, your mind manifests or shows the reflection of the level and state of consciousness that you are. And that reflection is what you perceive invariably as your external experience in life.

There is NO attraction between you, on the one hand, and the people and things in your life, on the other hand. There is only a reflection in the mind of the consciousness that you are. People, things and conditions that are not part of your present state of consciousness will have no corresponding reflection in your mind-body continuum, and therefore, will NOT be part of your personal experience of life, even though they may be your desired good. This explains why and how we experience lack and limitation in life.

Furthermore, if the mind you are functioning with is “clouded” by your human conditioning or your human belief system — meaning to say, that your mind is bereft of spiritual clarity or spiritual illumination (i.e., unenlightened), — your mind will not be able to reflect the inherent goodness and perfection that exists at the core essence of people and things. As a result, our experience becomes disruptive of the wholeness and the harmony underlying everything — what we then consider to be “evil” in our human experience.

The old Newtonian teaching on the nature of gravity as an attracting force operating between two material objects is not tenable in Albert Einstein’s modern theory of relativity. Under Einstein’s physics, gravity is interpreted to mean the indentation in the space-time continuum caused by the mass of an object. It is this “bending” of the space-time continuum or the “warping” in the fabric of space-time continuum that causes things of a lesser mass to come within the gravitational purview or captive influence of the object with the greater mass.

Before Einstein, space seemed featureless and changeless, as Isaac Newton had defined it two centuries earlier. And time, Newton declared, flowed at its own pace, oblivious to the clocks that measured it. But Einstein looked at space and time and saw a single dynamic stage — spacetime — on which matter and energy strutted, generating sound and fury, signifying gravity.

Newton’s law of gravity had united the earthly physics of falling apples with the cosmic dances of planets and stars. But he couldn’t explain how, and he famously refused to try. It took an Einstein to figure out gravity’s true modus operandi. Gravity, Einstein showed, did not just make what goes up always come down. Gravity made the universe go ’round.

Gravity’s secrets succumbed to Einstein’s general theory of relativity, unveiled in a series of papers submitted a century ago this November to the Prussian Academy in Berlin. A decade earlier, his special theory of relativity had merged matter with energy while implying the unity of space and time (soon to be christened as spacetime). After years of struggle, Einstein succeeded in showing that matter and spacetime mutually interact to mimic Newton’s naïve idea that masses attract each other. Gravity, said Einstein, actually moved matter along the curving pathways embodied in spacetime — paths imprinted by mass and energy themselves. As expressed decades later by the physicist John Archibald Wheeler, mass grips spacetime, telling it how to curve, and spacetime grips mass, telling it how to move.

Space-Time Gravity Curvature
Gravity is the curvature in the Space-Time Continuum made by the mass of an object.

So, what are we to make of the new physics in terms of bringing good and more good into our experience? How do we spiritually bend or warp the fabric of the mind’s space-time continuum? How do we spiritually grow the mass of Truth in consciousness by which we curve the space-time continuum of the mind?

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33, KJV)

Instead of trying to “attract” good into our lives, we work on realizing the consciousness of Truth or God-consciousness. That is what the Master Yeshua (Jesus) meant when he instructed us to “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.” Our inner realization becomes the “curvature” in our mind-body continuum by which and into which our good — the “added things” — naturally falls into its gravitational orbit around us. Our realization of Truth enables that Truth to become reflected in the mirror of our minds as our experience.

We make a life project out of this spiritual business of God-realization. Here is how we go about our project to accomplish its goal.

First, we introduce the light of Truth into our awareness: This is why we go to the Truth teaching or the Dharma in Buddhist parlance. We study its mystical teaching to learn its principles correctly. We allocate a part of our resources, time and effort in reading mystical literature mindfully, in listening to or learning from an authentic spiritual teacher (not to pseudomystics and charlatans), and in associating with people who are also traveling the mystical path of life.

Then, we adopt and cultivate a spiritual practice that can effectively and efficiently enable us to contemplate the Truth principles in the quietness of our minds and, more importantly, in the silence and stillness of our hearts: We set aside sufficient time during our 24-hour day to sit patiently in the meditation state of mind. We commit to our practice, and we try no matter what.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:6, KJV)

Undoubtedly our life project is very different from the metaphysical, “new age” and prosperity teachings commonly found in the marketplace of spiritual ideas. Our project does not deal with positive thoughts or affirmations, visualization techniques, or other such methods for mining good from the world. We follow Yeshua’s simple advice to us who would be followers of the Christ as he was. We undertake our project in consciousness using only the reflective quality of the mirror mind for our tool. We work the inner to bring forth the fruits of realized consciousness in the outer. We start above in God’s heaven to shape the earth below.

All good is within us, as us. Let’s bring it out from within us. All peace is within us, as our life and being. Let’s bring it out to the troubled world outside us. ☺️
